Join us for the Virtual Hawaii Career Expo October 21 & 22, 2020

Star Events and ALTRES Staffing presents a Virtual Career Expo on Wednesday and Thursday (October 21 and 22) that will allow employers and job seekers to connect in a safe environment. Due to pandemic safety guidelines, the annual in-person Career Expo at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall is going online, allowing the new virtual event to expand its reach to the Neighbor Islands.

Now more than ever, there is a critical need to provide innovative and alternative ways for companies and potential employees to connect. This free event allows job seekers to visit the virtual booths of many of Hawaii’s leading companies, all looking for qualified hires in a competitive recruitment marketplace. Job seekers will be able to learn about available jobs, initiate private chats with company recruiters, and upload resumes confidentially. US VETS, a Career Expo partner since 2018, will return to host Workshops for Veterans. They will provide free services for veterans who need assistance with job placement and job training through personal and career-development training.

“Last year, thousands of people came through our Career Expos to connect with hundreds of recruiters and HR managers throughout the state,” said Denise Ching, Classified Advertising Manager at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. “Hundreds of people left the event with a life-changing career move or hire.”

“This is the best time for people to consider what other employment options are available,” said Emy Yamauchi-Wong, a certified staffing professional and manager at ALTRES. “Even if you are happy with your current employment situation, it’s always a good idea to keep your options open and learn what companies are hiring for, as well as what the requirements would be in case you consider making a total career change.”

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 21 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 22 at HawaiiCareerExpo.com

The Expo is free for attendees, but registration is highly recommended. Look for the official guidebook that is posted on hawaiicareerexpo.com

The Hawaii Career Expo attracts some of Hawaii’s most qualified and successful applicants and has helped employers connect with talented candidates seeking employment in a variety of fields.
