Now in its 6th year, the spring Hawaii Career Expo will take place on Wednesday, March 25th at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
The event provides “serious opportunities for serious job seekers” with hundreds of Hawaii’s leading companies like Hawaii Pacific Health, Territorial Savings Bank, Honolulu Police Department Oahu Transit System (TheBus), Hertz Rent A Car and many more, all looking for qualified hires in a competitive recruitment marketplace.
Job seekers will be able to connect directly with employers, submit resumes and get hired on the spot. Attendees will also have the opportunity to upload resumes directly into the Monster.com database where recruiters from all over the state will be able to access the information to connect with potential new hires, thanks to Microsoft, who is providing computer stations at the show.
US VETS, who was a partner in the show in 2019, will return to host free admission for any U.S. Veteran who provides their Veteran ID information. They will also provide free services throughout the day for veterans who need assistance with job placement and job training through personal & career development training.
“Last year, thousands of people came through our Career Expos to connect with hundreds of recruiters and HR managers throughout the state,” said Denise Ching, Classified Advertising Manager at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. “Hundreds of people left the event with a life- changing career move or hire. Over 100 people were hired just at the Navy booths alone., and we are excited to all of our participating companies on board again this year.”
“This is the best time for people to consider what other employment options are available, said Emy Yamauchi-Wong, a certified staffing professional and manager at ALTRES. “Even if you are happy with your current employment situation, it’s always a good idea to keep your options open and learn what companies are hiring for, as well as what the requirements would be in case you consider making a total career change.”
