After a life-threatening event prevented me from practicing medicine for over six months, I am so grateful to be alive and again able to practice veterinary medicine the way we do at Kaka‘ako Pet Hospital.
Fifty years ago, veterinary medicine was practiced out of the veterinarian’s house in the neighborhood. The veterinarian knew the families who lived nearby and all their pets by name. That was where your family pet went to get care. We felt like family there, too. Times changed. Veterinarians moved out of the neighborhoods and into commercial spaces.
